The "Warren" part of Kysor Warren began in 1882 in Atlanta, GA, as Shannen Refrigerator and Butcher Supply Co. In 1909, Virgil P. Warren and his father acquired the company. In 1922 the company was renamed The Warren Company. Kysor Industrial Corp. acquired The Warren Company in 1969. The Warren Company was renamed as the Warren/Sherer Division of Kysor Industrial Corp. In 1989, Kysor Industrial change the Warren/Sherer name to Kysor Warren. Berisford PLC, a leading global manufacturer of food equipment, acquired Kysor Warren in 1999. The following year, Berisford changed its name to Enodis, a Latin derivative meaning "solutions". Enodis was acquired by Manitowoc in 2008. Kysor Warren was then sold to Lennox in 2011. In 2019, Lennox sold Kysor Warren to Epta, a multinational specializing in commercial refrigeration with headquarters in Milan, Italy.
