3-Phase Voltage Imbalance Instructions

A 3-phase power system is considered in balance when its voltages and currents have the same amplitude. An unbalanced system means the phase voltages are not equal.

Voltage imbalance is often the result of poor system load distribution. It will cause motors to run hotter and less efficiently and shorten their operational life.

This app calculates the percentage voltage imbalance given 3 voltage measurements. It will flag any imbalance 2 percent or greater as being too high.
